Synopsis of Breathless

This film and Truffaut's "The 400 Blows" are both hailed as the pioneers of the French New Wave of Cinema. The penniless street gangster Michel (Jean-Paul Belmondo) stole a car from Marseille. On his way to Paris, he was caught by the police for speeding. In order to escape, he shot and killed the car. After killing a policeman, he came to Paris and hid with his journalist girlfriend Patricia (Jean Seberg) (in addition to evading police wanted, he also tried every means to recover the money he earned from selling cars). When Patricia went to the newspaper office, she met the police chief, who asked her to call and tell him as soon as he had any news about Michelle. Patricia has a complicated mentality towards Michelle. On the one hand, she is deeply fascinated by his indifference to everything, but on the other hand, she despises him for being too careless.
