Synopsis of Gleason
Former NFL (American Professional Football League) player Steve Gleason was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis when he was only 34 years old. Two weeks later, his wife discovered that she was pregnant with the baby. Gleason began to use video recording every day. The camera recorded the birth of his son. The life of the Gleason couple also recorded the development of Gleason's condition. As the child was born and grew, Gleason became increasingly frail, until he was completely paralyzed from the neck down and lost the ability to speak. Although suffering from a terminal illness, Gleason never gave up on life, and even found a new direction in life - he established charity organizations and funds in his own name to improve and help the lives of other ALS patients.
