Synopsis of Moonlighting

The fifth film in the "Polish Sextet" series received the highest rating of four stars from Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert, and the New York Times praised the film as "the best exile film in film history." Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons used his captivating Polish accent and his consistently repressed and restrained acting skills to vividly interpret a cautious man who illegally went to London to work as a supervisor, and how he was determined not to let fellow workers know about Poland's political changes. . The story of this film was inspired by Skowlimoski's real experience of renovating his London residence. Filming started one month after martial law in Poland, and incorporated some of his personal concerns about sexual obsession into the atmosphere of the times.
