Synopsis of Legend of King Naresuan: Hostage of Hongsawadi
In the 16th century, Naresuan, the son of MahaThammaracha, the king of Ayudhaya, was captured as a hostage in Hongsawadee (now Myanmar) and grew up there. Naresuan, who returned to his homeland in 1571, laid the new cornerstone of the Ayudhaya Kingdom with his outstanding leadership skills. But Nandabayin, the new king of Hongsawadee, is eyeing Naresuan and wants to get rid of him. In 1590, after the death of his father, Naresuan successfully ascended to the position of king, declared the independence of the Ayudhaya Kingdom, and declared war on Hongsawadee. King Naresuan is the great king most respected by Thai people, and his deeds are widely legendary. The film "King Naresuan" describes the life story of Thailand's most legendary king. Director Chatrichalem Yukol uses his outstanding directing ability to tell a legendary life of King Naresuan.
