Synopsis of A Certain Scientific Railgun

This drama is adapted from the side story manga "Science Railgun" starring the popular character Misaka Mikoto from the light novel "A Certain Magical Index" written by Kamachi Kazuma. The story takes place in "Academy City", a huge city that occupies one-third of the western part of Tokyo and is home to 2.3 million people, 80% of which are students. Academy City is isolated from the outside world and researches cutting-edge technology. All students receive superpower development, and most of them obtain superpowers through drugs, hypnosis, and electrical stimulation. There are various types of different abilities, which are divided into those with no abilities (Level0), those with low abilities (Level1), those with special abilities (Level2), those with strong abilities (Level3), those with great abilities (Level4) and those with super abilities based on their range and power. (Level 5). The story begins when Misaka Mikoto, the strongest electrocution princess in Academy City, "Railgun", meets Uiharu Shiri, who is on the disciplinary committee like Kuroko...
