Synopsis of The Public Enemy

Tom Powers (James Cagney) and his friend Matt Doyle (Edward Woods) have been hanging out together since childhood and like to do some petty theft. For this reason, Tom has been scolded by his brother Mike (Donald Cook). However, Tom refused to change his mind. Tom and Matt also met Putty Nose (Murray Kinnell), a gang member. After the two grew up, at the instigation of PuttyNose, the two went to a shop to steal with another teenager. However, due to PuttyNose's betrayal, the two were almost arrested, and the other teenager died. The two then turned to Paddy Ryan. At that time, Prohibition was implemented in the United States.
