# Synopsis of sea

In 1949, the Kuomintang's power in the mainland collapsed, and its remnants retreated to Taiwan. In order to achieve the liberation of the whole country, the Communist Party's Third Field Army continued to advance southward. The Red Sixth Regiment of the Independent Division where Wang Benli (played by You Yong) was the main force in this battle. However, due to the lack of maritime combat experience and a regular navy, more than 9,000 officers and soldiers of the Red Sixth Regiment were buried at the bottom of the sea. Wang Benli, who was lucky enough to survive, changed his name to Wang Shankui after his friend in order not to forget this tragic history. After the victory of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, Wang Shankui was transferred to his command by Lu Xinquan (played by Du Zhiguo), the newly formed naval political commissar, and officially transformed from an army officer to deputy commander of the navy. During this period, he married the beautiful female military doctor Xu Jinyun (played by Zheng Weili). He also worked tirelessly to study bayonet battles against the national army's kiloton-class warships, and successfully sunk the enemy's kiloton-class warships with several destroyers and torpedo ships. The battleships "Jingmen" and "Zhangjiang" brought shame to the comrades of the Sixth Red Regiment. In the following decades, this iron-clad man experienced countless honors and hardships with New China... This film is adapted from Zhai Xiaoguang's original work "Red Ocean".
