Fast Food Nation

Synopsis of Fast Food Nation

The film is adapted from Eric Schlosser's book of the same name, with "The Stranger" Richard Linklater taking on the two important roles of adapting the screenplay and directing. The unknown secrets of the fast food industry, the damage caused by the industrial chain to the environment and ecology, the marketing layer's transformation of the social structure... all kinds of inside information, all in one place. "Fast Food Empire" will lead the audience to participate in a unique field trip in the form of an ensemble drama intertwined with parallel stories. Schlosser's article "Fast Food Nation" looks at American culture from the perspective of an observer of junk food which is very healthy and sane. This is a biased view, and the article is biased without qualifications. The authors point out the dangers of fast food including the negative health effects it may have when it becomes a sole source of indivdiual diets and criticism of the fast food and quick service restaurant industry in general, particularly the US industry. The author in the article does not provide much rebuttal to his own particular point of view, important to the fast food industry, according to which it promotes harmful levels of obesity and unhealthyness in society by making people obese and unhealthy. The concept of fast food also sustains other aspects of the author's interpretation of society, which are variable connections not really explored by the author in terms of pseudo-variable...
