Synopsis of Comrades: Almost a Love Story

In the early days of reform and opening up, Li Xiaojun (played by Liming) bid farewell to his girlfriend Xiaoting (played by Christine Yang) and came to Hong Kong from Tianjin (Wuxi in the Mandarin version) to make a living in Hong Kong. He hopes to make a lot of money one day and bring Xiaoting to marry her in a glamorous manner. I didn't expect that life would be much harder than imagined. After Li Xiaojun met Li Qiao (played by Maggie Cheung) who also came to Hong Kong from the mainland to seek life in a fast food restaurant but avoided talking about his identity, because of their mutual love for Teresa Teng, the loneliness of the two in a foreign land was relieved to some extent, and they started dating. True love was born in the process, but things were unpredictable, and the two eventually broke up. Li Xiaojun became Xiaoting's husband, and Li Qiao followed Brother Bao (Eric Tsang), who worked in the underworld. However, because of Teresa Teng, the fate between the two did not end there.
