Synopsis of Wish You Were Here
A biting and funny British comedy, the story is set in a small British town after World War II. The local folk customs are conservative, but a girl named Emily breaks through the traditional taboos. Her mother died young and her father had long since given up on disciplining her daughter. As a result, the precocious Emily developed a willful lifestyle, wearing revealing clothes and behaving perversely, which aroused the itch of many boys. Emily worked several jobs but failed due to absent-mindedness. Later, she dated her father's middle-aged friend and became pregnant as a result.
