Synopsis of Anchor Baby

While Shi Lu (played by Shang Yuxian) was studying in the United States, her divorced father (played by Wang Yanhui) quietly remarried in China and shifted the focus of his life to his new wife and newborn son Cody (played by Lin Jingzhe). This created a gap between father and daughter. The unrequited family affection left scars in Shi Lu's heart. She tried to find a sense of existence and belonging at work, but unexpectedly encountered a visa crisis. When she was desperate, her estranged father suddenly called and asked her to arrange for her half-brother Cody to go to the United States for treatment of hepatitis C. In order to use his American brother to obtain a short-term work visa, Shi Lu agreed against his will. Cody's need and dependence on her made Shi Lu realize the long-lost family affection. Shi Lu must make choices between family and personal dreams.
