Synopsis of Stir of Echoes

Line workers Tom Witsky (Kevin Bacon) and Maggie (Kathryn Erbe) are an ordinary American couple. They and their son Jack (Zachary David Cope) and Maggie's sister Lisa (Illeana Douglas) lives in the suburbs of Chicago and has a calm life. Lisa is young, sexy and charming, with a mysterious temperament. At a party, Tom was hypnotized by Lisa, and then experienced a brief and frightening dream. This experience made Tom feel uneasy. Strange phantoms often appeared in front of him, and his life began to be surrounded by a strange atmosphere. At the same time, young Jack seems to have the same feelings as his father... The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Richard Matheson and won the 2000 International Horror Guide Best Film.
