Synopsis of My Father My Lord

The son of a Jewish pastor always quietly listened to the teachings in his father's arms. Sometimes he would ask innocently: When can I go to the Dead Sea? In the eyes of children, the Dead Sea is fun because there are fish that can float and sink. The father finally brought his son to the land of his dreams. When the time came, the father quickly led the believers to the mountain to pray silently. Unexpectedly, a child picked up his son's shoes, but his son was nowhere to be seen. If Bergman's film reflects on religion like the apocalypse, the director's first film is even more like entering a spiritual mountain, where he was born. The identity of Chang Yu Si’s past life reveals the true meaning of sacrifice and redemption. Narrated like a poem, it constructs a spiritual atmosphere and reflects on the story of Abraham Isaac. The film was nominated for four awards at the 2007 Israel Film Academy Awards and won the Best Feature Film Award at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.
