Synopsis of The Odyssey

The beauty Helen caused the Trojan War, a melee between humans and gods. For ten years, countless heroes and warriors fell on the land of Troy. In the end, this protracted war ended with the Trojan Horse trick devised by Odysseus (Armand Assante). After the victory of the war, the Greek heroes returned home one after another. Odyssey, who was proud of his decisive military exploits, boasted to the sea, but this angered the sea god Poseidon, who cursed him and made him unable to return home. The stubborn Odyssey insisted on setting off, killing Poseidon's son Cyclops on the way, causing a storm and the death of all the crew. After that, he encountered the entanglement of the goddess Cleiso (played by Bernadette Peters) and the island fairy, and more than ten years passed by in a flash. On the other hand, Odyssey's wife worked hard to raise her son. When the powerful people from far and near learned that Odyssey had died, they came to marry Odyssey's wife. A loyal woman waits to her death for the return of her heroic husband... This film is adapted from Homer's epic poem "The Odyssey" and won the 1997 Emmy Award for Best Miniseries Director and Best Special Effects.
