Synopsis of A Better Life

Carlos Galindo (Demian Bichir) is an undocumented person who smuggles himself from Mexico to the United States. His wife had left him long ago, and now he and his 14-year-old son Luis Galindo are dependent on each other. The son was discriminated against and bullied by his classmates at school because of his special status, but he always responded silently to his father's inquiries, and the gap between the two became deeper and deeper. In order to make a better life for himself and his son, Carlos worked hard to make money by pinging orders. One of his gardeners' daily job was to mow the lawns of various wealthy Americans. His boss wanted to return home and sold his second-hand truck and essential tools for a gardener. Hoping to transfer more money, Carlos borrowed money from his sister to buy an old truck that had been discarded and tools necessary for a gardener. But one day, the old truck that Carlos relied on for survival was stolen by Santiago (Carlos Linares), a gangster on the block. In anxiety, the father and son faced each other honestly for the first time and restored their previous family relationship. Father and son set off together...
