Synopsis of The End of the Affair

On a rainy night in 1946, the novelist Maurice Bendrix (Ralph Fiennes) encounters his old friend Henry Myers (Stephen Rea), a diplomat. From Henry's mouth, Morris learned that the other party's wife Sarah (Julianne Moore) seemed to be having an affair, which made him jealous. It turned out that Morris had a secret affair with Sarah two years ago, and the two often shared sexual pleasures behind Henry's back. But after a major bombing, Sarah left the bed. Morris, who has always been brooding, accepted Henry's request to help his friends investigate Sarah's whereabouts. However, the result made him sigh and sigh... The film was adapted from Graham Greene's 1951 mystical romantic autobiographical novel and won the 2000 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for Best Screenplay.
