Synopsis of Way Down East
Lillian Gish plays the role of Anna, a simple country girl who is abandoned by the playboy Lennox in a marriage scam. After the illegitimate child died young, Anna experienced the cold and warmth of the world, and finally disappeared in despair in the wind and snow of late winter.
