Synopsis of Gallipoli

In 1915, during World War I, the Battle of Gallipuri was a disastrous defeat for the Allies, but countless Australians participated and sacrificed. The director used this battle to write about a boy's dream. Aqili was an idealist. He was originally a runner on the sports field. He joined the war in order to uphold justice, so he brought sportsmanship to the battlefield. He refused to act as a trivial errand boy on the battlefield, preferring to jump out of the trenches to fight the enemy. He knew that his superiors issued ridiculous orders, but he still loyally carried out them. His friend Fran is a prodigal son who likes to cheat on the sports field. He is also cynical when he comes to the military camp. When he is really exposed to the atmosphere of war, he gradually puts away his frivolous attitude. The film begins on a ranch in Western Australia, progresses to a training camp in Cairo, and ends on a battlefield in Turkey. The officers on the battlefield were eager to win. Even though they knew their subordinates were being targeted by the enemy's machine guns, they still forced them to charge into the battle, only to be completely defeated. Two young people dedicated themselves to serving the society, but in the end one of them had to sacrifice his life in exchange for experience, leaving his friend beside him howling wildly, shocked to see his ideals disillusioned.
