Synopsis of The Searchers

Ethan Edwards (played by John Wayne), a veteran who participated in the American Civil War, returned to his hometown of Texas after the war and came to his brother's farm hoping to reunite with his relatives. Essen has always been secretly in love with his sister-in-law and only keeps this feeling in his heart. However, a Comanche raid completely shattered Essen's wish. During this Indian attack, both Essen's brother and sister-in-law were killed, and his niece Debbie (Natalie Wood) was robbed, and her life or death was uncertain. In order to avenge his beloved sister-in-law and to find the whereabouts of Debbie, Essen, accompanied by his brother's adopted son Martin (played by Jeffrey Hunter), began a difficult search. Essen did not hesitate to spend five years and a thousand-dollar bounty to find the whereabouts of Chief Scar. However, Essen's utter hatred for the Indians and his almost crazy behavior made Martin begin to doubt the real reason why his uncle was searching for Debbie. He was even worried that Essen would kill Debbie, who had been assimilated by the Indians.
