Synopsis of True Grit

The father of fourteen-year-old girl Mattie Rose (Kim Darby) was killed by homeless man Tom Chaney (Jeff Corey). The tomboy Rose vowed to avenge her father. However, the cunning Chaney has been hiding in the Indian tribe. The alcoholic one-eyed bailiff Reuben Cogburn (played by John Wayne) is one of the well-known bailiffs in the West. Ross found him because of his reputation and hired Reuben to hunt down the murderer Chaney. At the same time, Bev (Glen Campbell), a young man from Texas, is also hunting Chaney and bringing him to justice. Ruben was attracted by the high reward offered by the Texas government, and also hoped to use Bev's power to annihilate the bandit Piper (Robert Duvall) and his gang in one fell swoop. Ruben and Bev discuss getting rid of the obstructive Ross, but the stubborn Ross follows them all the way.
