Synopsis of The Green

Michael (Jason Butler Harner), a gay teacher in a private school, reaches out to a teenager who is bullied at school out of good intentions, but is accused of sexual harassment by the teenager's family who is in financial distress. The school chose to stand against him, and the homophobic darkness deep in the hearts of his neighbors, friends, and colleagues quietly surfaced. He faces felony charges and the loss of his job, freedom and home. With no choice, he decided to resist, but the secrets from a few years ago had no choice but to surface... The film reversely exploits people's distorted secular view of equating homosexuality with child molestation to make a profound dissection of human nature. The background is set in Connecticut, where gay rights have been legalized, because "even if the law grants rights, it does not mean that people's hearts and minds have changed.
