Synopsis of King of the Children
During the Cultural Revolution, Lao Gang (played by Xie Yuan), an educated youth who had been in the queue for seven years, was sent to a simple primary school in the Yunnan-Guizhou Mountains to serve as a teacher. His fellow educated youths happily called him the "King of Children". But there was a severe shortage of teachers and few teaching materials. The school assigned him to teach the third grade of junior high school, which surprised him. Lao Gan was troubled by the overwhelming number of political learning materials in school.
