Synopsis of The 400 Blows

In composition class, Antoine (played by Jean-Pierre Léaud) graffitied on an image of a woman sent by his classmates and was punished to stand in the corner. After class, Anthony, who was alone in the classroom, wrote poems on the wall to vent his dissatisfaction, which made the teacher (Guy Decomble) even more angry. In the evening, his mother (Claire Maurier) was furious because Anthony did not buy flour, and his stepfather (Albert Rémy) gave him a sum of money to eat lunch at Anthony's request. The next day, Anthony skipped school at the instigation of his classmate Rene (Patrick Auffay), went to watch movies and play games, and saw his mother kissing a man Anthony didn't know on the street. On the third day, Anthony returned to school. In a panic, he lied about the death of his mother and gained the teacher's forgiveness and love. Unexpectedly, his stepfather found out about his truancy, so he rushed to school with his mother, exposed his lies, and slapped him twice in front of the whole class. Anthony decided to leave a letter and run away from home. But where can he go at such a young age? Paris is so big and France is so big, where can he rest?
