Synopsis of The Imperial Coroner

In the middle and late Tang Dynasty, Chu Chu, a girl from a family of widowers in the southwestern mountainous area, came to Chang'an alone to realize her dream of becoming a widower. She took the exam and met Xiao Jinyu, the king of Anjun who was an expert in solving cases. Xiao Jinyu recruited Chu Chu as his partner to uncover the secret and investigate the case. The mystery of Chu Chu's life experience stirred up a thousand waves and broke the balance of forces in Beijing. A power struggle between overt and covert power ensued. As the cases were solved one by one, the team composed of Chu Chu, Wang Ye and others unveiled the mystery step by step and finally solved a shocking case that lasted for 18 years. Xiao Jinyu and Chu Chu got married successfully, and Chu Chu was finally recognized by the emperor. He received the status of "imperial concubine" granted by the emperor himself, and realized his life ideal.
