# Synopsis of The Baby of Mâcon

An ugly old woman gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with an angelic face. However, the baby boy's sister (Julia Ormond) claims that the child is her own. Once the absurd premise of virgin birth is established, a series of incredible and mysterious things will happen one after another, and the order of the entire world will cease to exist. She first claimed that the baby boy was the Holy Child possessed by God, and then she claimed to be the Virgin Mary and relied on the Holy Child to make money. When the sister fell in love with the bishop's son (Ralph Fiennes), they were hindered by the Holy Child, and the bishop's son died tragically under the horns of a bull. In order to retaliate, the sister killed the Holy Infant. The people who came after hearing the news demanded severe punishment for this woman who violated the laws of heaven, so she was sentenced to death. Because the law at that time stipulated that virgins could not be executed, so the Pope ordered 208 soldiers to rape she. The sister died in rape, and people happily dismembered the Holy Child and divided them up, hoping to receive the Holy Child's blessing.
