Synopsis of The Best of Me

Dawson (James Marsden) and Amanda (Michelle Monaghan) used to be a couple. They have been dating for many years and have a very good relationship. However, family opposition and life changes made Amanda gradually stay away from Dawson, who accidentally killed someone in a sudden accident and went to jail. After learning that Dawson was in jail, the kind-hearted Amanda went to visit him. However, Dawson, who thought he was not good enough for Amanda, avoided seeing her. As time went by, Amanda could only give up. Twenty-one years passed in the blink of an eye. Dawson became a driller after he was released from prison, and Amanda also found a man of her dreams and got married. However, Amanda still missed Dawson in her heart. The death of an old friend brings Dawson and Amanda back together as they deal with the deceased's funeral together.
