Synopsis of Sunset

After his award-winning debut film "No Gate to Heaven" (2015), which presented the hell on earth in the Nazi concentration camps from an unconventional perspective, Nimes moved forward with a deep-focus lens to gaze at the collapse of the world during World War I. A mysterious orphan girl, Alice, comes to Budapest and tries to find a job at a famous hat shop founded by her late father but is turned away. She embarks on a journey to track down the ghost of her brother, the demon, and return to the past to uncover the hidden truth about her family. Continuing the style of the previous work, the long lens follows Alice through dark time and space, focusing on limited viewpoints and narrow perspectives. The oppression of the hazy image like a nightmare comes over you; with the faint light remaining in the old family store, the fall of civilization is slantedly illuminated.
