Synopsis of In Harm's Way
The film "On Fire" follows Captain Rockwell Tory (played by John Wayne) and commander Paul Eddington (played by Kirk Douglas). They are the Navy's Pearl Harbor after the Japanese attack. The survivors work hard to repair the battleship and prepare for revenge. Meanwhile, Tori is in a passionate relationship with nurse Maggie Haynes (Patricia Neal). And hopes to restore a relationship with his estranged son Jeremiah (Brandon DeWilde), a young naval officer. The film brilliantly and truly presented the situation of war, and was nominated for the 38th Academy Awards: Best Cinematography in Black and White.
