Synopsis of Dante's Peak

Dr. Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) is a volcanology expert at the U.S. Geological Survey Center. This time he was sent to inspect a small town on Mount Dante, and Dante is where the small town is located. The peak is a dormant volcano near Washington. Harry came to the town just as the mayor Rachel (Linda Hamilton) was hosting a celebration because the town had just won the second place in the United States for the best living environment. Rachel and her two children took Harry around and passed by the hot spring lake. Harry noticed that the water in the lake was too acidic and found two cooked floating corpses. Hareton felt that the situation was not good and the volcano was very likely to erupt, and suggested that Rachel issue a warning. However, Paul, the boss who was traveling with Harry, thought that he was overreacting and planned to go home after the week's exploration mission was completed.
