Synopsis of Bad Movie

Jang Sun-woo, as the most controversial director in South Korea, is known for his bold and faithful films. His open sexual views and strong political complex often cause controversy in South Korea. He once said in a film publication, "The object of research in the Korean film industry is exactly the sensitive area of Korean society in the 1990s. Sexual intercourse is an important part of our lives, but if we always avoid and distort it, it will only increase our curiosity." , causing an uproar in the Korean media. "Bad Movie" is Jang Sun-woo's 1997 work. It was invited to participate in the Tokyo International Film Festival. It is a realistic film shot in the form of a documentary. It describes the potentially dangerous character of contemporary rebellious teenagers in Korea, including running away from home, taking drugs, stealing, and abusing alcohol. The decadent life of Jiaotong and others is vividly displayed. The film uses anti-traditional shooting techniques and realistic methods to extremely raise the issue of how young people choose to live. When it was released in South Korea, because the content was too realistic and bold, many out-of-character scenes were cut out before it was released. These clips have only been released in the director's version of DVD, allowing more people to understand the real life and social problems of contemporary rebellious teenagers in Korea.
