Synopsis of Detective Story

Jim (Kirk Douglas) is a criminal policeman who hates evil and makes it his mission to eradicate evil. One day, while interrogating a suspect named Xinaida (George Macready), Jim did not hold back his anger and became violent. He was warned by a lawyer at Xinaida because of his behavior, but he also learned about a full-blown case. He has a criminal name-Tom (Gerald Mohr). Following the guidance of a lawyer at West Nile, Tom found his wife Mary (Eleanor Parker) and asked her about Tom's trail. What shocked Jim was that Mary not only had a relationship with Tom, but was even pregnant with Tom's child. This incident plunged Jim into distress and confusion. His wife's secret love history made him wonder whether he should continue to pursue it.
