Synopsis of City by the Sea

Vincent (Robert De Niro) is an experienced police detective. He has solved difficult cases one after another with his calm thinking and superb IQ, and is deeply trusted by his colleagues and citizens. While responsible for investigating a major case, Vincent was shocked to discover that the man behind the scenes he had been hunting turned out to be his own son Joey (James Franco). It turned out that in his early years, Vincent Leaving his wife and son behind, Joey was filled with pain and anger because of his father's absence. Now, when the father and son meet again, they are already in an incompatible situation, and they must stand in court to fight against each other. It hurt Vincent's heart to know that it was because of him that Joey became what he was now. Standing at the crossroads of justice and family love, Joey doesn't know what to choose.
