Synopsis of Jakob the Liar

The story takes place in Poland in 1944. The iron hooves of the German army set foot on this miserable land. For a time, all life was devastated and the place became a hell on earth. As a Jewish boy, Jacob (Robin Williams) and many boys like him were forced to work as cattle and horses by the German army. All information channels were blocked by the army, and Poland became an isolated city. By chance, Jacob heard on the radio the news that the German army was fighting a fierce battle with the Soviet army. The battle took place elsewhere, in Benshanik, only a few hundred kilometers away from Poland. With high morale, Jacob decided to tell more people this precious news. With Jacob's fueling, the Allied Soviet Union had gained an irreversible advantage in the battle. This false information boosted the morale of the Jews, but it also reached the ears of the German army. They began a rigorous investigation to catch the initiator of the rumor and trouble.
