Goodbye, Children Au revoir les enfants

Synopsis of Goodbye, Children

At the end of World War II, Germany's anti-Semitic policies were still being pursued unswervingly. A Jewish child of Bonnet (Raphael Fejtö) from Marseille was murdered in this family and sent to a French school. Here, he carefully kept his secrets secret, but he was often teased by his classmates because of his status as a freshman. Among them is Julian (Gaspard Manesse), who comes from a wealthy French family. Julian and Bonnet became roommates. During the days they lived together, Julian discovered that this boy who was often bullied had similar interests as him. The relationship between the two gradually became harmonious and they became good childhood friends. When Julian suspected Bonnet's Jewish background from various signs, Bonnet did not alienate him and helped hide the secret. Perhaps in the minds of children, the political world seems too small in front of true friendship. However, the clutches of adults still invaded Bonnet's life, and the priest and Bonnet who protected Jewish children were betrayed...
