Synopsis of Before the Rain

In Macedonia, and Bosnia at war, a young monk of the Orthodox Church silently protects a young girl, a Albanian girl who was suspected of killing an Orthodox Christian. But it was just a misunderstanding. The monk decided to elope with the girl out of his kindness. In London, a photojournalist (Katrin Cartlidge) was talking to her husband about their weakening relationship in a restaurant. When the two had a heated argument, a racist burst into the restaurant and shot him. Love suddenly becomes clear between life and death. A photojournalist (Rade Serbedzija) who left his friend set out from London and returned to his hometown of Macedonia, where he had not been for 16 years. There were his old friends, his Orthodox friends, and ethnic conflicts with the Albanians. The photojournalist tried to resolve the dispute through reconciliation, but it was not as simple as he imagined. "A circle is not a circle." Three intertwined stories, tragedies caused by misunderstandings of different cultures, religions, and nationalities.
