Synopsis of Martian Child

Two years ago, science fiction novelist David Gordon (played by John Cusack) suffered the pain of losing his wife. Time did not heal the wound in his heart, but made him feel more empty. In order to relieve the loneliness in his heart, David decided to adopt a child. Of course, this decision was questioned and opposed by his relatives and friends around him. Regardless of the opinions of others, David adopted a little boy named Dennis (Bobby Coleman). Although Dennis is handsome and cute, he has a very eccentric personality. He claims to be from Mars, hides in a cardboard box all day long, does not play with other children, and likes to take photos with a camera without film. Dennis's arrival injects vitality into David's life and brings him long-lost love. As life went on, David discovered that getting along with the Martian boy was not easy... The film is adapted from David Gerrold's award-winning science fiction short story.
