Synopsis of Mr. Holmes

In England in 1947, the famous detective Sherlock Holmes (played by Ian McKellen) lived in seclusion in his countryside in Sussex. He was 93 years old. Whenever he sees a movie about himself in the cinema, he can't help but shake his head. Most of the heroic deeds about him are rumors. For example, he never liked holding a pipe as people described, but he loved cigarettes. After retiring, Holmes became a beekeeper. The only people around him were the housekeeper Mrs. Munro (played by Laura Linney) and her amateur detective son Roger (played by Milo Parker). But from time to time, he still broods over those old things. Holmes is determined to solve an unsolved case 50 years ago without the help of Watson (voiced by Colin Starkey), and this will be the last adventure in his life. This film is adapted from the novel "ASlight Trick of the Mind" by Mitch Culin.
