Synopsis of Typhoon

On the sea 220 kilometers northeast of Keelung Port in Taiwan, a ship carrying a nuclear satellite navigation device disappeared mysteriously. After investigation, it was determined that it was captured by a pirate gang headed by Xin (played by Zhang Dongjian). In 1983, young Shin fled from North Korea to South Korea with his family to seek political asylum, but was turned away by the South Korean government. Except for Shin and his sister Myung-joo (played by Lee Mi-yeon) who escaped, everyone else was killed. The two siblings lost contact since then, and later became pirates. Their hatred of South Korea grew day by day, which eventually led to the current incident of hijacking a nuclear ship. For many years, Shin has been looking for his sister's whereabouts. After the South Korean Ministry of National Defense found out the details, it sent a senior naval officer Kang Sejong (played by Lee Jung Jae) to launch a pursuit. Through a tip-off, Jiang Sejong found out that the pearl was in Russia. During the contact, Sejong felt pity and conflict. At the same time, Xin also gets the whereabouts of the Pearl, and the two men will start a desperate battle...
