Synopsis of Belly

"Belly" stars rapper DMX. In the film, DMX (Earl Simmons) plays an ambitious con man who is extremely hungry for money, power and respect, and his best friend Nasir Jones hopes to stop his illegal behavior. "Belly" vividly demonstrates the forces driving the culture of today's urban youth. "Belly" was nominated for the 1999 Independent Spirit Award. It is a dark and sharp urban thriller. The biggest gimmick of the film is the all-star cast of platinum rap performers - the famous actor Earl Simmons (also known as DMX) plays an ambitious, An upstart pimp who desperately pursues money, power and respect; Nasir Jones, also known as NAS, plays his best friend and is determined to help him clear his name.
