Synopsis of My Way

During the Japanese colonial period in Korea, Tatsuo Hasegawa (played by Jô Odagiri), the grandson of the Japanese general, competed with Kim Junzhi (played by Dong-gun Jang), a poor and humble boy, until the Olympic selection. Although Junzhi was in danger of winning the championship, he was framed for violating the rules. The aggrieved people clashed with the military, and Junzhi was eventually exiled. He and his brothers were repeatedly humiliated by the Japanese army. During a field battle, Junzhi accidentally captured Sly (played by Fan Bingbing), a sniper who specialized in shooting Japanese troops. General Chenxiong came to the front line to supervise the battle, which humiliated Junzhi. He insisted on long-distance running every night, but his running shoes were burned. He didn't want to be a death squad, so he simply ran away en masse. Junzhi saw the Soviet army approaching and decided to run back to deliver the message. As a result, the Japanese army was defeated and Chenxiong and Junzhi were captured. In the ice and snow, Junzhi met Zhongtai, his brother who had escaped before, but the latter had become cold-blooded. After a commotion, Junzhi and Chenxiong had a fight, and Junzhi tolerated his opponent. After that, the German army counterattacked wildly, and Junzhi and Chenxiong experienced life and death together in the death squads. In order to escape for their lives, they shared joys and sorrows, climbed over mountains and ridges, and came to the German-occupied areas. The two were separated, and they met in the German camp in Normandy. Chenxiong saw the running figure again...
