Synopsis of The Quiet Duel

In 1944, World War II was in full swing and at a tragic time. In a Japanese military field hospital in Nanyang, military doctor Fujisaki Kyouji (played by Toshiro Mifune) and his colleagues worked day and night, tirelessly, and raced against time to rescue every wounded person. However, misfortune suddenly struck, and Fujisaki accidentally scratched his hand and was infected by the blood of syphilis carrier Susumu Nakata (played by Kenjiro Uemura). After the war, Fujisaki returned to work in the hospital of his father Takanosuke (played by Shimura Joe).
