Synopsis of The Big Short

During the 2008 global financial crisis, several discerning investment geniuses on Wall Street saw through the illusion of a bubble before the 2007 U.S. credit crisis, and profited significantly by shorting subprime CDS, becoming one of the few investment tycoons to make large profits from the financial disaster. Jared Wynette (played by Ryan Gosling) will be a Deutsche Bank agent who can turn a US$4 billion order into US$3.7 billion in revenue. Michael Burry (played by Christian Bale) is a one-eyed fund manager. Mark Baum (played by Steve Carell) comes from a Wall Street family, and Ben Hockett (played by Brad Pitt) is a retired banker from Cornish Capital.
