Synopsis of The Burmese Harp

In July 1945, the war in Southeast Asia was coming to an end, and a group of Japanese soldiers were on their way to retreat to Thailand. Private Mizushima (played by Shoji Yasui), under the command of a captain who was born in a music school, used the harp he learned to teach himself to boost morale and soothe the sad thoughts of the soldiers. Later, he used music as a medium to achieve spiritual reconciliation with the British soldiers who accepted their surrender. communicate. Mizushima received a mission to persuade a group of Japanese soldiers who resisted to surrender. However, those soldiers refused to accept the emperor's order and eventually all died in the battle.
