Synopsis of Venus

Morris (Peter O'Toole) and Ian (Leslie Phillips), retired theater actors who are over seventy years old, are a pair of good friends living in London. They live an ordinary life, occasionally going to the cafe run by Donald (Richard Griffiths) to have a drink and reminisce about the good old days. Their peaceful life was broken by the arrival of a girl. Ian's niece's daughter Jessie (Jodie Whittaker) came to London from northern England to look for work and temporarily lived in Ian's apartment. Jessie doesn't adapt to life in London, and Ian has a headache about his great-niece. At the critical moment, Morris came to the rescue of his old friend. He took Jess around London, helped her find a job, and became deeply fascinated by this sensitive and shy girl... The film won the 2006 British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actor (Leslie Phillips).
