Synopsis of The Lady from Shanghai

The sailor Michael O'Hara (Orson Welles) who had killed people in Spain returned to New York. One night he rescued the robbed beauty Elsa (Rita Hayworth) on the road, so Elsa asked her husband, lawyer Arthur Bannister (Everett Sloane) to find Michael and ask him to work as a sailor on the ship. The Bannister family had just returned to New York from Shanghai and were about to take a boat to San Francisco. While sailing on the sea, Michael and Elsa secretly fell in love.
