Synopsis of The Wire Season 3

The focus of the third season returns to the Barksdale gang active on the streets, but also expands the perspective into the political realm. In addition, a new subplot of Hamsterdam is introduced this season to explore the potential positive effects of the "de facto" legalization of illegal drug trade and prostitution in some sparsely populated neighborhoods. This approach has had positive results in Amsterdam and other European cities, reducing street crime within the city. These are continuations of earlier episodes.
