Synopsis of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

Salmon expert Dr. Jones (Ewan McGregor) works for the British Fisheries Department. His mid-life crisis makes him feel boring and tired of life. One day, Dr. Jones suddenly received a seemingly impossible task. A wealthy Yemeni sheikh contacted Dr. Jones through his young secretary Harriet (Emily Blunt), hoping to use Dr. Jones's wisdom to help him realize his dream of fishing salmon in Yemen. At the same time, the British government found great political significance in this plan, so the British Prime Minister's spokesperson (Kristin Scott Thomas) also enthusiastically joined.
