Synopsis of Bob Roberts

Film director Terry Manchester is directing a documentary about American politician and folk singer Bob Roberts. The film begins in October 1990, when Rob is running for the Pennsylvania Senate. Roberts went to the location of the "Tabby Pigeon", a mass organization whose purpose is to oppose drug abuse, and used singing and speeches to oppose drug abuse. Soon, journalist Laplin told Manchester: "Tabby Pigeon" has been using transport planes for drug smuggling in the past. Laplin spread the word: Savings and loan funds were improperly diverted to fund drug trafficking. To this end, television hosts and a person who specifically campaigned for Roberts went on strike in protest. Roberts was shot after a television performance, and Lapping was arrested. Roberts became an instant hit and was hailed as a martyr of the New Right. He finally won a seat in the state Senate. Lapping was freed after being proven not to have shot Roberts, but he was nearly shot to death.
