Synopsis of Mud

Ellis (Tye Sheridan), a 14-year-old boy who lives on the Mississippi River, and his friend Neck discovered an abandoned boat on an island in the middle of the river. At the same time, there was also a mysterious wandering man named Mad who was temporarily living on the boat. (Matthew McConaughey). Mud claimed to have lived here when he was a child, and asked Eisley and Neck to help him because of his limited mobility. Ellis, whose family is on the verge of disintegration, almost instinctively trusts Mud, provides the latter with food, and learns that Mud has been obsessed with his childhood sweetheart Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) for many years and killed her. In the past, it turns out that Mader is trying to take Jennifer away while avoiding the pursuit of bounty hunters on the isolated island. Ellis is willing to believe in Mud's love, even though his life is full of disappointing undertones, and he is willing to help this strange big friend...
