Synopsis of Vital

Hiroshi Takagi (played by Tadanobu Asano), a long-haired young man who loves art, suffered a serious car accident. Although he escaped by chance, he completely lost his memory and had no memory of his parents. After that, he became very interested in the medical books at home. Under the suggestion of his father Takao (played by Kazumi Kushida), Bo Shi concentrated on his studies and was admitted to a medical university. Bo Shi comes and goes in the school, is cold and isolated, and is indifferent to the pursuit of the girl Yu Mei (played by KIKI). In a certain anatomy class, Bo Shi was deeply moved by the corpse of a young woman. The memory gate in his mind seemed to be opened from this, and the magical influence led him to explore the true identity of the female corpse and the unknown secrets behind it... The film won the Silver Crow Award at the 2005 Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival, the Special Jury Award at the 2005 Portuguese Fantasy Film Festival, and the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 2006 Yokohama Film Festival (Nami Emoto).
